Day 6: Is Arutas beach - Cabras - S'Archittu

Today’s plan was to visit a beach made of quartz sand that looks as if it’s made of tiny pearls. Because the beach slopes steeply, we cooled off very quickly, but the current kept washing us back toward shore.

In the afternoon, we continued on to Cabras, where the Festival della Bottarga was practically all about bottarga. There was a market, live cooking demonstrations, and events on a stage—all centered around bottarga. Bottarga is salted, pressed, and dried fish roe—and, by the way, it’s also known as Sardinian caviar.

For dinner, we headed to a restaurant right by the sea, just in time for sunset. There, we enjoyed delicious fish, both grilled and fried.
