Day 5: San Vito - Cagliari - Porto Alabe
Today we started out in the middle of city traffic, including a multi-lane roundabout with confusing traffic rules and a parking garage that was barely wider than our car. After that, we continued on foot to a huge market with fish, meat, vegetables, and fruit, and then on through the city, stopping at various viewpoints. By the end of the day, we had logged 15,000 steps.
In between, we refueled with arancini—one Caprese and one Funghi/Mozzarella—along with coffee and a few Sardinian sweets.
Afterward, we continued on a roughly three-hour drive along the E25, where a tractor crossed our path right in the middle of the highway and a family of donkeys strolled quite leisurely along a country road. Once we arrived at our new lodging, we marveled at the sunset over the sea from our terrace and went out for pizza and tiramisu in the neighboring town that evening.
